"What is the operating procedure for a gantry crane?

Before operation, the following relevant procedures are required according to the relevant regulations of the country:

Factory certificate of conformity, manufacturing enterprise qualification certificate, installation personnel operation certificate, work commencement notice, self-inspection report.

I. Operating procedure for a double girder bridge crane.

Before work:

a. Inspect the components such as brakes, hooks, wire ropes, and safety devices according to the requirements of the checklist. If any abnormalities are found, they should be resolved first.

b. The operator should only close the main power supply after confirming that there is no one on the gantry or track. If the circuit breaker is locked or there is a notice board, it should be removed by the authorized person before closing the main power supply.

During work:

a. When lifting heavy objects for the first time in each shift (or when the loadreaches a significant weight), after lifting the load to a height of 0.5 meters from the ground, lower it down again to check the performance of the brakes. Once confirmed to be reliable, proceed with regular operations.

b. The operator should sound the alarm bell according to the specified requirements for the following operations: lifting and lowering heavy objects, starting the movement of the large and small trolleys, driving the gantry crane through an area with limited visibility, approaching another gantry crane within the span, and when the lifted load is close to personnel.

c. During operation, the operator should follow the designated command signals.

d. In the event of a sudden power failure, all control handles should be set to the "zero" position. Before resuming work, the operation of the gantry crane should be checked for normal functioning.

e. During normal operations of the gantry crane's large and small trolleys, it is strictly prohibited to engage the reverse brake for stopping. When changing the direction of motion, the handle must be set to the "zero" position to completely stop the mechanism before moving in the opposite direction.

f. For gantry cranes with two hooks, when switching between the main and auxiliary hooks or when the heights of the two hooks are close, the main and auxiliary hooks must be operated separately to prevent collisions.

g. Gantry cranes with two hooks are not permitted to lift two objects simultaneously. When not in operation, the hoisting mechanism's brake should not be adjusted.

h. It is strictly prohibited to use limit position limiters for stopping the vehicle. Adjusting the brake of the hoisting mechanism while under load is strictly prohibited.

i. Strictly adhere to the "Ten No-Lifting" system, which entails not lifting in the following situations: unclear or incorrect command signals, exceeding the rated lifting capacity, improper use of slings or insecure fastening of objects, presence of people or other loose objects on the lifted load, malfunctioning brakes or other safety devices, direct processing of heavy objects during crane movement, lifting loads at an angle or with a tilted position, lifting explosive objects, lifting objects buried underground, and lifting objects with sharp corners or unsecured openings.

j. In the event of any abnormalities, immediately stop the crane, inspect the cause, and promptly rectify the issue.

After work:

a. Raise the hook to a certain height, park the large and small trolleys in their designated positions, and set the controller handle to the "zero" position. Pull down the switch handle of the protective box to cut off the power supply.

b. Perform routine maintenance.

c. Carry out shift handover tasks."
